Position Summary:
This position supports the operational flow and day-to-day functions of Dress for Success Nashville. Responsibilities include coordinating donations and inventory operations, supporting merchandising and sales activities, assisting with volunteer coordination, helping coordinate EmpowerHer, professional empowerment, events, and ensuring program spaces remain organized, welcoming, and participant-centered. This role plays an important part in maintaining the operational success of Dress for Success Nashville and supporting a positive experience for women, volunteers, and community partners.
Relationships & Contacts:
- Within the organization: Initiates and maintains frequent and collaborative working relationships with the SVP of Community Programs, Dress for Success staff, YWCA program staff, volunteers, and community engagement partners.
- Outside the organization: Initiates and maintains positive working relationships with community partners, donors, volunteers, and program supporters.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Supports and maintains Dress for Success Nashville donation, inventory, and merchandising operations, ensuring organization, flow, and high standards for donated merchandise.
- Coordinates the donation intake process, including organizing, sorting, processing, and preparing appropriate wardrobe pieces and accessories.
- Helps maintain Dress for Success Nashville program spaces to ensure they remain organized, welcoming, appropriately stocked, and reflective of a professional and participant-centered environment.
- Assists with planning, organizing, and facilitating recurring inventory and sales events.
- Coordinates and supports volunteers assisting with donations, merchandising, inventory processing, events, and operational activities.
- Assists with securing quality professional clothing and accessories through onsite collections, private donations, and community inquiries.
- Assists with client stylings and helps support a welcoming and encouraging participant experience.
- Supports operational preparation and coordination related to EmpowerHer events and engagement activities.
- Assists with maintaining inventory records, entering basic program data, and supporting operational tracking as required.
- Collaborates with Dress for Success and YWCA staff to support smooth daily operations, event preparation, and program logistics.
- Works collaboratively with Dress for Success Nashville staff to ensure programming aligns with Dress for Success Worldwide and YWCA standards.
- Represents YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee and Dress for Success Nashville at community events and program activities, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with Dress for Success Nashville and YWCA staff to support promotional materials, engagement efforts, and participant communication.
- Assists with event setup, organization, inventory movement, and operational logistics as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- HS diploma or equivalency required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Two years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Customer service, retail, merchandising, volunteer coordination, event support, and/or nonprofit experience strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to carry boxes/materials with various weights, up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to move throughout program spaces and the community as needed.
Other Requirements:
This position requires incumbent to have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, vehicle insurance, and a clear driving record for the last three years.
